This is a good question. Yes, the Kanji for right 右 (MIGI) looks very similar to the kanji for stone 石 (ISHI). But looking at them side by side, you will notice the vertical stroke extends beyond the horizontal stroke in MIGI. It is flush with the horizontal stroke in ISHI. The stroke order is also different in these two kanji.
